It was all thrills and frills at the 2017 NBC Lagos Yatch Club Boat Racing championship held at the weekend at the Lagos Yatch club, Onikan. Boat race lovers were treated to the best experience of splashing fun and excitement.
The competition which ended amid fanfare was watched by a capacity crowd of spectators, made up top executives of Nigeria Bottling Company, makers of Coca Cola, members of the club, their family members and the general public.
Karel Minaar and Joe Koiski emerged tops and won the first prize in the Lightening class category. David Kruyt and Carrol Bossier took the firs prize in the Hobbie class category while Julean Hardy, Mortes Foght and Arun Tolani took the first prize in the mixed Monohull class category.
Speaking at the end of events, national sales director, Nigerian Bottling Company, Dan Fratila said the company’s sponsorship of the competition was in line with goals of achieving its corporate social responsibility, CSR target.
“We at NBC recognise the fact that every successful company must succeed along with the community it operates in. That is why we partner our consumers in different spheres to achieve their dreams,” Fratila said.
Also speaking, the national Marketing Director, NBC, Sergio Vieira said Coca Cola is touching the lives of youths and providing platforms for the development of sports in the country. He explained that through Copa Coca Cola football competition, the company was engaging 5,000 schools across the country.
