Overage Energy Limited, an integrated oil and marketing company based in Lagos, has announced the resignation of its Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Dele Bankole, effective February 1, 2017.
The company said in a statement that Bankole, a seasoned downstream professional, joined the services of the company in April 2015 after about 13 years in Conoil Plc where he acted in different capacities such as trading and import operations, business development operations, sales and demand management in specialised products and lubricant business, and terminal operations.
The Chairman of the Board, Overage Energy, Air Vice-Marshal Olufunso Martins (retd.), thanked Bankole for his tremendous contributions to the young company in spite of the short time he spent with them.
He wished him, on behalf of everyone at the company, big success in his future engagements.
Martins said, “No parting is sweet, but we can’t stop him. Bankole has laid a good foundation for the future success of the company and we appreciate him for that.”
According to him, the company is now positioned to tap into the burgeoning opportunities in the downstream sector of oil and energy business in Nigeria, especially in the aviation sub-segment.
He said, “The company is currently finalising plans, having been granted a permit by the Federal Aviation Authority of Nigeria and Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, to commence the construction of an ultra-modern aviation fuelling terminal at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja to meet the growing demand for Jet A1 in the country.”
According to the statement, the General Manager, Business Operations, Mr. Lekan Adebiyi, will act in his stead pending the appointment and announcement of a new substantive CEO for the company.
