So Adele had some trouble crying on her latest hit single“Hello” music video. And guess the song she requested for to get her to cry? Labrinth’s “Jealous”.
She speaks of the song, “The minute that piano starts, I’m like… I can’t cope with that song. You could play it at my kid’s birthday and I’d burst into tears.”
Xavier Dolan, who directed the song, recently to Entertainment Weekly about the song’s tearjerking effect on the singer, but left it up to Adele to reveal the specifics. “I don’t know what that song means to her,” he said. “It sounds like it’s connected to something private.”
And it worked: “Crying like that… we were all stunned,” he told EW. “It was outstanding. She was bawling, but not doing it in an uncontrollable way. She was truly impressive.”
